Charlie Ryan joined the firm after a varied career of Marine Corps service as a Trial and Defense lawyer as well as several years as a judge in the service. He then retired as a Marine officer and entered the Automotive business working in the full gamut of industry legal jobs, including Market Representation, Marketing, Distribution and incentive work; first for Nissan and then for Toyota, where he was the Vice President for Legal Affairs. Retiring from corporate life, he decided to continue his career with his Marine friend, Kit Ashby, and continues to practice in automotive related fields, with an emphasis in Market Representation and all the aspects of Manufacturer-Dealer relations.

Charlie was born and raised in the Chicago area, and came to Houston in 1998 to work for Gulf States Toyota. He earned his B.A. in Economics from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and his J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. He attended the University of San Diego in graduate level courses in employment and labor law, and has had a very diverse career. He is noted for his aggressive and principled representation of his clients' interests and a willingness to fight for what is right.
